Parametric Analysis on Landing Gear Strut Friction of Light Aircraft for Touchdown Performance

The aim of this paper is to obtain the strut friction–touchdown performance relation for designing parameters involving friction landing gear in a light aircraft. numerical model validated by drop test single half-axle gear, which used energy absorption properties process. Parametric studies are conducted using response surface method. Based on design experiment results and functions, sensitivity analysis variables implemented. Furthermore, multi-objective optimization carried out good touchdown performance. show that proportion load accounts more than 35% total impact energy. characterizes well response, with minimum fitting accuracy 99.52%. most sensitive four responses lower bearing width wheel moment inertia. Moreover, max overloading sprung mass LC-1 decreases 4.84% after optimization, illustrates method efficient improving aircraft
